Our Story

Intertwined with the vine and with time.

The roots of the Erneic family go back to the village of Šmihel above Ozeljan, where about two hundred years ago the farm was run by Jernej. Leopold Leban (1883–1922), according to the testimony of his grandson Edi Leban, dreamed of having a larger vineyard, but his life was cut short too soon. In 1988, Edi planted the first vines at the current location in Ozeljan, thus fulfilling both his grandfather’s and his own dream.

Today, the estate with its sun-kissed vineyard is cared for by Edi together with Primož Lojk, his wife Erika, and their sons Rok and Anže. Here they produce wines of excellent quality. From the homestead, a peaceful panorama stretches across the vineyards, opening towards the Vipava Valley, the Karst Plateau, and the Carnic Alps.

The story of the Erneic family is also woven into the logo – a stylized vine tendril, symbolizing the strong bond between generations: the transfer of knowledge, land, and dedication from uncle to nephew, and from father to sons.

Wines

A golden yellow wine with aromas of fruit, peach, and ripe yellow fruits. The wine offers a full, soft, balanced taste with well-expressed minerality. The acidity is pleasant and refreshing, giving it a long finish. Elegant textures that can include creamy sensations.

It goes well with fish, seafood, poultry, pasta with creamy sauces, or mature cheese. Due to its balance, it is a versatile wine that can also be enjoyed on its own.

Welcome, wine lovers!

In our rustic tasting room, we offer a pleasant stop for couples, friends, and business partners, hosting up to twelve guests. In fine weather, larger groups of up to 50 people can be welcomed outdoors among the vineyards, where our elder son Rok often plays the accordion.

The surrounding area is ideal for hikers, cyclists, paragliders, and those who love to explore cultural and natural attractions.

A short walking path takes you to the source of the Lijak stream, while cycling routes among the vineyards offer a perfect relaxation for biking enthusiasts. For a slightly longer hike, you can take the Vitovlje circular trail leading through the village of Osek to the 14th-century pilgrimage church of the Virgin Mary, built on a rocky hilltop with a wide view over the Goriška region.

Above the Erneic vineyards, you can clearly see the natural green window Skozno. A suitable starting point for the hike is the more than 500-year-old church of St. Michael in Šmihel above Ozeljan, with its restored frescoes.

 

Nearby there is also a paragliding take-off site, where adrenaline seekers can try tandem paragliding.

In the immediate vicinity lies Nova Gorica, the youngest city in Slovenia, known as the “city of roses”, which inspires all culture lovers with its history and story of a borderless life.
